Sihanoukville

Фото Sihanoukville

Continuing the tradition of this trip, moving from Siem Reap to Sihanoukville we decided to use the new mode of transport for us - the Hotel bus. Not cheap, $ 17 per person, but, believe me, it was worth it!

Ordinary-looking bus went from the city center at 8 p.m and arrived at its destination at 9 a.m. I went to a lot of buses in Asia -  Mini Bus, in which it is impossible to sleep, and in the so-called "Sleeping bass", in which the backrest reclines a little more than usual, and third-class buses, which sometimes have to sit on things in aisles. But this is - is another matter ....

This bus includes a 2-tier, consisting of full beds. We got to the bottom.

We are extremely comfortably and sweetly slept until the Sihanoukville. The only negative  - there are no toilets. At particular issue driver replied that if someone needs - then he will stop))) However, all passengers going to the bathroom at one of the stops along the way. Just the way the first half of us a little bothered Cambodians who drove picked up along the way - they are crowded and sat in the aisles, sometimes steped on the arm or leg ... Nevertheless, the half-way they came out and we, for the first time in bus travel, get enough sleep!

In Sihanoukville we called a friend of our friend, who agreed to put us up for a few days. To be honest, I thought it would be fun and educational - to communicate with the person who lives here for a long time ... But it was not quite so ...

The first night we slept on a tile covered with a cloth. The next day we bought soft mats, which still use today. Night and day turned out to be very, very strange and Russian. In addition, Anton (the guy to whom we arrived) there lived another three  - all from the wilds of Russia which you can understand because of talk and behavior. Our first morning began with cries of "Ilyayayaya !!!! ILYAYAYAYAYA !!!! Come on! I wanna eat!!!!!" ..... What is the problem go and eat  we did not understand. However, since this every our morning started exactly same from 6 to 10 am. We got up angry and silent, drinking puer, it invigorates and our days out were good and interesting ...

Say, Cambodia (and other Asian countries) - the country of "fast karma." I think all we have worked their doorsteps, for unpleasant situations fallen upon us,  after we stoped our raw food diet. Further, there was a strange situation with the keys to the house - saying that we will go to the cafe to eat -  we left. Returning, we found indoor home, wrote to Anton and he he answered that he would not soon, and find him in a small Sihanoukville is impossible. We waited 2.5 hours, telling  similar to the situation storyes, looking at the stars and blowing cigarette smoke in the direction of a full moon .... Then we first started thinking about to move out... Also exactly half of the domestic population not engaged decisively anything that mean not just inaction, and even the lack of desire to do anything .... spending time with beer, weed and a TV. For me this way of life strongly incomprehensible and unpleasant itself, but since I completely stopped smoking weed - even surprising. The sound of coughing, as in acute bronchitis, heard in the house in the morning until late night, and we wondered how they still do not cough up their lungs .... Then there was an unpleasant situation with the motobike, which took over 5 minutes to the shop and returned at 3am with empty tank and explanation "Well, you live for free! ..." and we moved ....

We found a perfect Guest House for $ 8 per day - at our disposal was a fridge, AC, Bath (for Asia that's a real chic) and 2 huge beds. During a searching learned some prices - from $ 5 a day, if not for long time and from 60 $ per month for a small room, but from 150$ you can find a really good  apartment, but light, water and internet you will pay separately.

For example, our view from the balcony and the balcony itself:

Now a little about the Sihanouk itself :) Here, in contrast to Siem Reap, you can rent the motobike from 4$ per day)))), however, hide your bags while driving - a lot of robbery on the road - yes, tear the bag, causing an accident. Be careful.

Sights of the city is not rich, if not to take into account the beaches. We are spoiled by Andaman sea, so did not swim in the Gulf of Thailand - it's really dirty. But went to the waterfall - it was beautiful :)

Entrance to the waterfall is free, but parking is better to pay half dollar - bikes are stolen just as quickly, as the bags ...

Also went to the mountain where a Russian mafia-guy built a house, and put inside some expensive and beutiful cars (entry was  2 $ per person, we did not pay) and set up on the roof his own plane.

Just looking for an autoclave for hooks at 2 tattoo studios, one of them was Canadian and one is Jewish. In the first sterlizator looks like this:

and tattoo and piercing works that we saw in the albums were just terrible, so I do not advise. In the second we have not seen the works and they said that they have an autoclave. However, at the request of sterilized hooks (we even offered money, seriously) they told that they did not know how to turn it on!)))) We are in a hurry and therefore did not delve much into it .... Well, do not know how, why not)))

To be honest, guys spoiled the first impression of the city, dirt, theft, general atmosphere - that's strongly pushed us not only from the city, but also from Cambodia itself. We try to save the impression and went intosmall town which named Kampot.

Rice is everywhere!

Khmers dried rice right on the roadway, where the asphalt is heated as much as possible. Such is the "natural-organic" way)))

The main purposes of the trip was two - see the city itself, since remain in Sihanouk had no more strength and a dam! Dam Incredible, here's a picture from Internet

Seeing this picture in Google, we lit up the idea to look at this beauty. However, that's was Chinese  and just a 1 kilometer from the dam we launched .... It's a shame, of course, but I get photo with guy in form :)))

The trip was hot :)

We decided to try to live in Kampot. About this city - next time....
