As it turned out there that no direct flight from Langkawi to Medan, so we flew to Penang and from there to Medan...
In Langkawi stunningly empty airport and Penang - awesome cold))) By the Way, if you get stuckin Penang on the transit there is very close tot he airport cheap cafe )))

In Medan arrived quite late, would recommend to withdraw money at the airport (very few ATMs across the country, half of them don't work with Visa, only MasterCard). Drove by public bus (30 000 per person) to the bus station "Amplas", Toba buses did not go,was rapidly getting dark and we went in search of the hotel.
We took this horrible room for 50 thousand rupees, the door was not closed (at night propped up by bed)... Along the way the children would surround us and shouted :"Mister! Money!" that was pretty creepy, so we ate noodle bags, boiled water on the stove and lay down to sleep, very tired after a flight. In the Morning again went on the bus, paid, local, 70 thousand. Tip - do not drink water from a stranger on the bus, is that there mixed with sleeping pills and you'll lose your things. Do not pay helpers, do not leave backpacks unattended, in many areas of Medan reigns rampant poverty that can be dangerous for tourists. We have, however, good karma))) So everything went well, drove 5 hours on a very bad road. The bus door closes with a latch, direct all the smoke inside (which for us was a big plus).
After the bus in the town Parapatis not delayed, immediately went on the ferry to Samosir island. The island is located on lake Toba,on the island there is a lake,this lake have a small island also.
The ferry costs 30 thousand for two, although seeing the locals always try to get more. See how much money locals paid and give the same money)))
Lake Toba is a volcanic lake, formed in the crater of a volcano with the same name and is situated at altitude1.5 km, i.e. it's cold there, take warmclothes))) by ferry, it is desirable to know which hotel you want to go,if you don't know - say ROMLAN. So we did, a cute little hotel, rented a room with a free standing shower for 50 thousand. Showered (hot water) and sat down to drink tea. Froze...
Took a walk around the neighborhood.... Beautiful, huge cacti, flowers, puppies, avocado trees....
Samosir is a closed place, no police there,so there's quite a "Tonsai" Ganja and mushrooms at every step)))) We have not tried, but we know from other tourists that everything is fine and "working")))
