Bangkok - Siem Reap

Фото Bangkok - Siem Reap

In the morning we went to Ekkamai bus station and bought 2 tickets to the border 220 baht each.

The bust wasn't new and nice and we was only two white guys inside and 5 more khmers.

The bus went slow and it's takes around 5 hours.

We passed the border without any problems. We walked past the yellow house where guys actively offer Cambodian visa to us, passed passport control aand got into Cambodia. No one acept us was white. At the entrance were held first in one room where the officers took us one photo  for the questionnaire, which we filled. They took $ 35 from each and slapped a visa. When we thought that everything behind and going deep searched the bus in front of our eyes grew a croud of people - that the visa was valid, we had to fill out another questionnaire similar in form and pass it to the window, where they made a photo again. Gizmo for fingerprinting at the window was, even with the printed instructions which fingers in what sequence it thrust, but they not asked about that. Attach to another piece of paper visa, similar to the Ukrainian migration card, and finally we were in Cambodia.

We were surrounded by at least 10 casinos - they are banned in Thailand, so cunning Thai and Khmer agreed))) people - the darkness! Hurrying newcomers and a lot of taxi drivers out of their way to offer their services. Fortunately for us amidst the chaos of the Thais and Khmers, I saw a very pale European face, which turned out to guide Andrey from Russia)))

Waited with him minivan and punctures on the road wheel and replace it with a few American tourists in 2 hours got to Siem Reap. Settled in a great guesthouse for the price of $ 10 per day, called Popular Guest House

got dinner and went to the bed.

By the way, a lot of mosquitoes and cheapness was a myth - the first 2 days I did not get any mosquito bites, and food prices were about the same as in Thai excluding cola (2 times more expensive) and fruit (3 times cheaper). Interesting situation with money in Cambodia all interesting - the local currency as a whole in the course, but because of it's low cost ($ 1 = 4,000 riels) local people love dollars more. Prices in supermarkets  in dollars also, but you can pay Thai baht, and Riel, or all together - for example, if you need pay $ 1.5 you can give 1$ and 2,000 riels. This assortment of currency at the same time - rubles, bahts, rieles and dollars!

Well, a little about Siem Reap. The big problem was that the legislature's banned the rent of motorbike here - you can use a tuk-tuk, bicycle or your foot. In addition, the khmers seemed to me more cruel to animals than the Thais. Dried crocodiles, for example, on every corner ....

Just near the temple khmers sitting with a bunch of birds in cages. Release the bird +100 to your karma and - $ 1 for the purse.

We take freedom for some number of birds...

...but some of them are in such poor shape that has hardly fly somewhere ... I think that's because there is no water - as khmers explained, without water birds fly better .... but not always ..

We bought the water and give it to the birds... khmers hate us at that moment...

One day went around the city. Looked at the championship at the river.

And walked again....

But the myth about massage for the 1$ was not a myth!))) However, for this amount khmers ready to massage you just 10 minutes, half an hour would cost 3, and 1 hour is $ 4-6.

At the next day we went to the famous Angkor Wat!
